CASTLEMANS GUNDOGS

Philippa Williams has been breeding working Golden Retrievers which carry her Castlemans Affix for the last twenty years and was also heavily involved in breeding, training & competing with the Levenghyl line of Labradors over the last ten years. Her aim being to produce dogs with excellent temperaments and retaining the natural working ability not only as a working dog but also for other sports such as Agility and Obedience as well as a companion for an active family and household.

Philippa provides a package in that all her pups will have been well handled, socialised, love to be with people & are bold & alert. I think people underestimate how important those first few weeks in their lives are and are vital to produce a well balanced pup for the future. She has been feeding the natural or BARF diet for the last forty years and so these pups will be at least four or five generation which is proof that it produces healthy pups with strong bones and teeth, clean skin and coat with bright clean eyes.  As they have always had the opportunity to be clean they continue to want to be so so all in all it produces contented pups.

Philippa only breeds when she is ready to keep one for herself which of course then means the rest will need loving and caring homes. What people also have to be aware of is that a name is only a name on a pedigree and if the care in rearing, training and placing them in the right homes is not upheld then that name is worthless.

There are some wonderful pictures taken by Maxine Furnandiz not only on the Castlemans Face Book page but also under her other company name of "Dogs For Life". Philippa has been giving Gundog displays at Crufts (the biggest dog show in the world) since 2003 and before that obedience displays, so you can see YouTube clips which have been taken of her Gundog displays over the last few years with not only her own dogs but dogs she has bred and helped the owners train.

Philippa believes she is very fortunate that so many of her puppy buyers who not only become friends but in turn come back time after time as they are very happy with what they have in their Golden and Labradors pups bred by herself. There is also the added bonus that they have on going support and guidance from puppy training sessions through her lessons which run mostly from April to September.

Mango

Mango

FTCH TWEEDSHOT THISTLE OF LEVENGHYL. Mango was the most exciting bitch I have ever run. She was very focused, full on and punchy when working but so easy when not. She was very connected and a delight to handle had a lot of natural ability , she loved life and was always happy. Although very much a career girl, Mango was an excellent mother.

Monkey

Monkey

FTCH LEVENGHYL ISLE OF ARAN (05-03-2004) Monkey was late to mature but was still producing the goods at nine with two seconds in two day stakes. Always sensible, reliable, biddable, consistent, athletic and focused. He was known for his excellent marking ability and straight line work. Monkey retired at the age of eleven and lived well into his teens. His skills and ability are passed on through his off spring.
